This qualification gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills, knowledge and competence without attending to any classrooms or workshops. Your allocated assessor will visit you on site.
The NVQ is designed for existing operatives in the construction sector, laying pavements, kerbs, channels and drainage active in the Construction Industry.

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Construction Operations and Civil Engineering has been developed for delivery in a working environment. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work as work as operatives in the construction sector, laying pavements, kerbs, channels and drainage, working with concrete or excavating holes or trenches.

Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

Evidence can include:

  • assignments/projects/reports
  • worksheet
  • portfolio of evidence
  • record of oral and/or written questioning
  • candidate test papers

Blue CSCS Card
On completion of your NVQ qualification, along with passing the relevant CITB Health and Safety test (within the last 2 years), you will be able to apply for the blue CSCS skilled worker card.
