The primary purpose of this qualification is to confirm the learner’s occupational competence as a Glazing Technician. Achieving this work-related, competence-based qualification will provide confirmation to employers, industry managers and card schemes such as CSCS that learners have the skills and knowledge needed to meet the national standard to carry out the role of a Glazing Technician.
The Certificate will develop knowledge and skills in areas such as general health, safety and welfare, productive working practices and moving, handling and storing resources. Learners can specialise in glass related occupations.
For some learners, this qualification can prepare them for advancement to further education and training. For others, this qualification can also be a useful recognition of their practical skills and knowledge to help them progress from one job role to another.
Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
Evidence can include:
- assignments/projects/reports
- worksheet
- portfolio of evidence
- record of oral and/or written questioning
- candidate test papers
Blue CSCS Card
On completion of your NVQ qualification, along with passing the relevant CITB Health and Safety test (within the last 2 years), you will be able to apply for the blue CSCS skilled worker card.
A further qualification in Glass Related Operations at Level 3 is also available.
